Rustic Bakery’s first location began in 2005 when founders Carol LeValley and Josh Harris turned a commercial bakery space for their now-iconic sourdough flatbread crackers into a cozy cafe with an eye-candy cases display of scones, muffins and cookies and a menu of sandwiches, salads and soups.
Their passion project quickly gained traction after Cowgirl Creamery’s founders took interest, leading to an order that helped establish the bakery’s reputation. This original cafe became a local gathering spot known for its commitment to quality and Northern California ingredients—a dedication that remains at the heart of the bakery as it opened three additional Marin locations.
