Owner Betzy Decker, a 2008 San Rafael High School graduate, was inspired to expand five-year-old Moonlight Deli & Coffee when she started doing pop-up events in 2021 to support San Rafael firefighters volunteering for non-profit organization, Firefighters without Borders. It was such a hit that she took over the business next door and now has a sandwich and a taco shop side-by-side.
The menu features quesabirria, burritos, quesadillas and pupusas on handmade tortillas along with fresh beverages. Limited seating is available inside where she showcases vibrant artwork on the walls and in a small tented area in the parking lot.
