Where Should We Eat?

It’s a straightforward question, but a decision that can become a vexing dilemma.

What are the newest places to check out? Where are the under-the-radar hidden gems? What’s worth making a drive out of town for?

I’m a long-time Marin food and restaurant columnist and have spent much of the past decade visiting, critiquing and writing about the county’s hundreds of restaurants.

But even before my passion for finding the best places to eat became a profession, I had a reputation for putting a high priority on choosing my next meal wisely – by reading between the lines of crowd-sourced reviews, scrolling through social media commentary and engaging in conversation with anyone similarly inclined.

Naturally, the results are never stagnant as restaurants come and go and personal desires change shift.

This website helps to narrow down where to eat, whether it’s a quick stop for a snack, a craving for something outside the norm or a return to a reliable classic.

Use the drop-down menus to select restaurants by town, cuisine and features. . .

or review the categorized recommendation lists and monthly deals posted on the website and published in the newsletter.

If you’re interested in sourcing and purchasing local goods from Marin-based artisans, purveyors and other small food businesses, visit the Shop Local Goods section.
